I've Summarized Some of the Books I've Reviewed
There is a list below of the published book reviews here on Squidoo. I've also done a brief review of The Shack and if you haven't read it there are multiple copies on Amazon to be purchased at all prices for used and new books. If I don't buy books on Amazon, I buy books for my Kindle on Amazon. I also have an iPhone and iPad, I sound techie, huh? I have the Kindle App on my iPad and iPhone so that I can read whenever on whichever I have with me at the time. Usually, when in a waiting room, or airport terminal I'll either use my iPhone or iPad to catch up on my many downloaded books. If I'm home and have been given a book, I'll read the real thing, turning pages and highlighting the info pertinent to me.
If I'm in the car my 3G phone allows me to just keep on reading. Get it? I love to read.
I've read a lot of books this year, thanks to my Kindle Fire. I also have several partially read books bookmarked in there. I've been reading on a dozen topics. The most recent topic is Narcissism, and Bi-Polar disorder. Because it runs in my family and I'm just checking into the symptoms to see if I have any of the traits - wanting to avoid the pain it causes others. I recently read Jane Pauley's book on her journey through Bi-Polar diagnosis. "Skywriting." I should review that book here, hadn't thought of it. Funny
Also, I have a tendency to stay on a theme through 3 or 4 books before I move on.

The Shack, by William P Young
There were several places in this book that I simply laid the book down and walked away, only to go back a few days later and make myself go on reading.
There were horrid trials and tragedies that I didn't want to imagine.
In one instance I felt everything I believed about God was being shaken and spilled out like dice in a cup.
The heartache of not knowing the ending, and still not knowing in the end, brought back too many memories of a recent accident I was in, so I had to get healing between the lines.
The author is brilliant!

Bookshelf vs Kindle eReader
I have moved on from bookshelves. In fact our last Bible commentary set will be boxed up in a few days and sent to a dear friend who doesn't use the internet to prepare sermons for the church he pastors. Then we will be done with most of the books we've kept for years.
What did I do with the books?
Some are in the closet in boxes, because I cannot part with them;
Some are in boxes in the basement, waiting to be given to grandchildren;
Many sold at yard sales or taken to Goodwill;
Several donated to a domestic abuse shelter where the ladies can re-use them;
Others have been sold on Amazon and/or eBay.
The books in the picture were donated to the shelter.
